As our fine art is tracked and cat­a­logued at the Polasek Museum, so too will the plants be iden­ti­fied. Infor­ma­tion about plants in the col­lec­tion must be accu­rately doc­u­mented to be of value to the pub­lic and sci­en­tific communities.

Once iden­ti­fied, the plant infor­ma­tion will be entered into our data­base accord­ing to sci­en­tific name, fam­ily name, com­mon name, native range and flow­er­ing dates. Addi­tional infor­ma­tion will be added as our track­ing con­tin­ues. Doc­u­men­ta­tion will begin the fall of 2009, start­ing with our col­lec­tions of cycads, bego­nias and ferns.
