Join the enchanting world of the Polasek Museum with its classically inspired art, botanical sculpture gardens and historic home.
Our volunteer corps is comprised of people of all ages, backgrounds and skills who share common passions: their love of art, nature and history.
Opportunities exist in a variety of areas based on individual interests, abilities and schedules. Being a Polasek volunteer is fulfilling and mutually rewarding. Community Service hours can also be obtained by volunteering.
The Polasek offers all volunteers a training program. Once training is complete, volunteers can contribute in a variety of ways:
- Docent Receptionists assist in the main gallery reception and gift shop, orient visitors and provide general information about the museum and gardens.
- Museum Docents interpret the history of Albin Polaseks art and home through formal tours of the house and chapel. All Museum Docents must serve as a Docent Receptionist first.
- Garden Docents escort visitors on specially scheduled tours of our lakeside Florida botanical gardens and Polaseks outdoor sculptures.
- Curatorial Assistants aid in the maintenance of the Museums collection under the supervision of the Museums Curator.
- Special Events and Publicity Volunteers help with special events, gatherings, fundraisers and community outreach. General office, public relations, marketing and promotional assistance are always needed!
- Gardening Aides dig in, literally, by helping staff members with general garden maintenance, planting, weeding and pruning of our three acre estate.
- Student Interns and Educational Aides are integral to our art education programs. Individual volunteers assist in research, collection management, art camp, educational tours and working with archival records.
