You can make a dif­fer­ence! Our vol­un­teers are val­ued mem­bers of the Polasek fam­ily who enjoy ben­e­fits such as field trips, dis­counts in the gift shop, appre­ci­a­tion events and much more. From main­tain­ing the gar­dens to assist­ing with edu­ca­tional pro­gram­ming, vol­un­teers con­tribute more than 7,800 hours a year to the suc­cess of our pro­grams and to the enjoy­ment of our visitors.

Join the ded­i­cated group of vol­un­teers who share their time and exper­tise. Vol­un­teer oppor­tu­ni­ties include docents, gallery recep­tion­ists, gar­den­ers, sculp­ture care, spe­cial events, gift shop coor­di­na­tor, office help and more.

One of our most pop­u­lar vol­un­teer activ­i­ties is help­ing in the gar­den. No rsvp required.

Hands-on Gar­den­ing

Tues­days & Thurs­days, year-round  9:00 a.m. — 12:00 p.m.

Dress to work in the gar­den and join us twice weekly for demon­stra­tions, infor­mal talks and hands-on gar­den­ing cov­er­ing a wide range of top­ics. No advance reser­va­tions nec­es­sary for Hands-on Gardening

  • Develop a depend­able schedule
  • Attend an ori­en­ta­tion ses­sion and/or train­ing session
